Diablo Immortal beta

Woo! It might not mean anything to some, this morning I received notification on my way to the airport for the Diablo Immortal beta release I applied for when they first announced it.

You remember the Diablo Immortal release, don't you? You know, the reveal that recieved backlash from the community over the comments made by "don't you all have cell phones??"

Well I do! Regardless of inappropriate nature of response from the Blizzard team nurturing the growingly annoyance of what is Diablo fans (why are Diablo fans big whinny babies anyways?), I am excited for this release and have been paitiently waiting since!

Diablo has been an iconic hack and slash since 1996 and I have been right there the whole way starting with the Shareware version, waking up early morning to get my time in on the phone line before the daily family traffic took me down until the evening. I've enjoyed Shareware, Diablo, Hell Fire, Diablo 2 with LOD expansion and as an adult have been able to share my love for Diablo with my family with Diablo 3 on PC and the Nintendo switch.

While I can relate to legitimate concerns from fans regarding Diablo entering the mobile market and changing the gaming model to microtransactions, it was crazy for Blizzard to not have tapped this market already. I mean, check the Google analytics for searches similar "mobile games like Diablo" (I have legitimately searched this myself), and it's easy to see that this really only made sense.

So there it is, downloaded on 5G just before a long day of travel Diablo Immortal Beta.

Aww yes... Familiar sounds.

I began my beta quest with a Crusader

It was nice as an introductory feature to include foot tracing to help determine where I was to venture.

Skarn is sharing with the town people that hell is upon us all.

Infriss the destroyer summoning mages and bringing damage.

So far, I am very excited for this. It has come at the perfect time too with the re-release of Diablo 2, something I wasn't even for, disappointing me.

I hope many other are able to experience the game play of Diablo Immortals and game and that progress moves forward.

My wishes?

I hope Diablo Immortals doesn't become a microtransactions monster. I would happily pay base for a game I am able to complete without being forced into buying weapons in-order to see progression throughout the game. Microtransactions of transformog, customization, etc wouldn't phase me.

Excited to see where this goes.
